TEA
Dried tea leaves do not "go bad" or "expire" but can lose freshness over time. To maintain tea quality, we recommend storing in a resealable container. Lucky for you, you can simply use our packaging you receive when you order! Be sure to gently push out air when resealing the bag after use. Keep your sealed container or bag of tea away from sunlight, moisture, strong smells, and heat.
Dried tea leaves do not "go bad" or "expire" but can lose complexity of aroma and freshness over time. A good rule of thumb is to utilize proper storing techniques to get the most out of your teas. Please see "How should I store my tea?"
In order for any herb to be subject to FDA regulation, the herb must be adulterated by exhibiting one of the four categories outlined by Section 5 of DSHEA:
1. The supplement poses a “significant or unreasonable risk of illness or injury” when used according to directions given on the label or, when there are no directions given on the label, used in an “ordinary” way;
2. The supplement contains a new ingredient that cannot be shown to be safe;
3. The Secretary declares the supplement poses an “imminent hazard to public health or safety”; or
4. The supplement contains “poisonous or unsanitary” ingredients pursuant to Section 402(a)(1) of the Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act of 1938.
Section Four also provides that the burden of showing that a product is adulterated, and thus subject to regulation, falls on the FDA. Because the manufacturers do not have the burden of proving their products are unadulterated (and thus safe for consumption), the FDA cannot require any kind of premarket approval for herbal products. Therefore, unless the FDA can demonstrate that an herbal product meets one of the four criteria listed above, the product can remain on the market.
Our herbal teas are used as weight loss aids, cold and flue treatments, and for depression and anxiety. They are also used as treatments for asthma, diabetes, and heart health. Although there is an herb for every ailment, we recommend you consult your physician before use, especially if pregnant, nursing, or taking other medications.
Sea Moss
Sea moss is a seaweed, an algae. "Wildcrafted" sea moss from the ocean is better, so we only purchase sea moss harvested from the Caribbean, specifically St. Lucia.
Organic is the method of growing and processing that helps protect our natural resources. Organic foods are grown on land that has been free from the use of synthetic fertilizers, growth regulators, insecticides or herbicides for at least three years. By composting, crop rotation, and interplanting to control weeds and pests, organic farming replenishes the soil, and sustains the health of our planet. You will find organic ingredients in 100% of our herbal products.
Sea moss contains 92 of the 102 essential minerals and nutrients in the human body. It is known as the "anti" powerhouse: anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-aging. Two centuries ago sea moss was used to treat pneumonia and tuberculosis. Poor farmers used it as an inexpensive source of nutrients and attached a negative connotation to the super food. Most recently, Dr. Sebi brought sea moss back to the forefront of holistic health and treatments. Now, it is used around the globe to increase energy, promote healthy weight loss, build strong, lean muscles, build immunity, and so much more. It is packed with iodine, potassium, calcium, and Vitamins A, D, E and K.
You can take sea moss everyday and It's recommended to take 1-2 tablespoons a day. This amount will allow you to see the benefits without experiencing too much of the side effects. Anyone with higher levels of iodine should completely avoid taking sea moss in any form.
moss gel should be kept refrigerated and can last for up to 4 weeks. Monitor your gel after 4 weeks to check freshness. Once familiarized with the texture, smell and look of sea moss gel, you will be able to tell when it's no longer fresh.
If frozen, sea moss gel can last for up to 3 months some times longer.
Be sure to use clean utensils and avoid cross contamination each time you take sea moss out of the jar.
Candles
Wooden wicks offer a modern appeal, an intriguing aesthetic, and an enticing and engaging soft crackling sound. Wooden wicks achieve a fast melt pool formation for a quick and excellent aroma.
Our luxurious Virgin Coconut Soy wax is a vegan blend of natural soy and coconut, and a miniscule amount of highly refined food-grade paraffin wax. It has a creamy white appearance, exceptional adhesion and provides an excellent fragrance throw, as well as exhibits an evenness of burn and wax consumption.
Our coconut and soy waxes are gluten free, toxin free, paraben free, phthalate free and come from renewable sources. The entire blend utilizes only FDA approved waxes.
Make sure that the top surface of the wax melts all the way to the edge of the candle before extinguishing the flame — this may take between 30 and 60 minutes after lighting.
Pouring or removing liquid wax from the vessel may cause the wick to extinguish and affect the future burn quality of the candle.
If your candle flame grows to over 1 inch high or the candle begins to smoke, then carefully extinguish the candle, allow the wick and wax to cool, and trim the wick to 1/4 inch. Remove and discard all wick trimmings before relighting the candle.
